Bengaluru pours its heart out for Mangalore tragedy victims

Benglooru : It was a sight of humanity at its paramount!

A sea of Bengalureans poured in huge numbers at the Forum Mall to pay tribute to the departed souls of the Mangalore air crash tragedy as Radio Mirchi organized a mass condolence ceremony.

A podium was erected at the mall and was open to one and all for the whole day to offer prayers, flowers and messages of condolence to their dear ones. Exclusive graffiti boards were also set up to help people pen down their messages.

There was a constant flow of people walking in to show their concern and to pay homage to the victims of the grave tragedy. Few of the Sandalwood celebrities also dropped by to remark and express their grief on the unfortunate demise of the air tragedy.

Radio Mirchi RJs along with their entire brigade were also present to pray for the departed souls. An announcement was also made on-air urging the listeners to visit the site to provide moral support to the families of the victims.
Commenting on the occasion, said Mr. Mr. Krishna Kumar, Cluster Business Head, Karnataka and Kerala, “It was a heart wrenching and an unfortunate incident. It is a mammoth loss for the families who have lost their loved one's in this tragic episode. Being an organization that depicts the pulse of the people, we put forth this initiative urging public to join us in collectively praying for the peace of departed souls”

Majja Run with a message on 'No Racism' from RJ Raaj of Radio Mirchi

RJ Raaj - Mirchi’s Majja run ambassador befalls the ‘Race Man’ in rainbow colours

Bengaluru 23 May 2010 : Majja Run – the fun part of the 10K marathon turned out to be an absolute delight and a meaningful event with Radio Mirchi’s RJ Raaj spreading the word to veto the discrimination of skin colour and support the cause of humanity with his unique “Race Man” look.

The race man was dressed in an outfit designed and made of multi coloured ribbon which depicted the harmony of colours, the cape that gave him a semi-super man look was certainly an eye catcher, and his crown was the highlight which had the flags of all nations in the world which were participating at the 10k marathon race.

The message of racism came stronger this year with the number of brutal acts taking place against Indians in few western countries. Drawing inspiration, Radio Mirchi also composed a special 10k marathon anthem which said, “Leave no one behind and run along” and was played repeatedly during the flag-off of the marathon. Singing along was RJ Avinash who was seen inspiring the crowd to sing and run. RJ Rachna and Smitha were present on the stage hosting the Majja Run on the spot contests.

Commenting on the occasion, said Mr. Krishna Kumar, Cluster Business Head, Karnataka and Kerala, “It’s a matter of pride to host Sunfeast 10K marathon in Namma Bengaluru which brings the entire city together without any colour biases. “No racism, only race” being the theme this year, we came out with an anthem for the marathon and it is commendable of RJ Raaj to come out with a unique and meaningful campaign! Kudos to the Mirchi team”
